HVAC/R Operations Manager

Plans, directs and coordinates the HVAC/R operations for the LCS Carrollton office. Responsible for achieving or exceeding the gross margin budget projections, fleet management, training, safety and supervision of all assigned personnel. This position requires a self -starter who is detail oriented, technically outstanding and possesses the ability to lead our HVAC/R department towards outstanding results while maintaining all aspects of replacement and services according to manufacturer's recommendations, company standards, and applicable State and Federal code and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Formulate and enforce policies, manages daily operations, and plan the use of materials and human resources that include but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and control budget spending, labor and material efficiency, customer service standards and effective employee practices.
• Direct and coordinate business activities regarding the bid process, sales and customer relations and produce required reports.
• Direct administrative activities related to the LCS HVAC/R Division services.
• Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties.
• Monitor supplies and third party vendor relationships to ensure efficient and effective products and services are provided within budgetary limits.
• Direct and coordinate financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency.
• Implement and enforce departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures.
• Perform personnel functions of selection, training, performance evaluation and termination.
• Estimate, oversee and review bid process and ensure established price and credit policies are enforced and effectively communicated to customers.
• Manage assigned vehicle fleet and ensure safe operation, inspections and maintenance procedures are adhered to by all assigned personnel.
• Ensure all assigned personnel understand and are adequately trained in their assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Ensure clean and orderly conditions exists in all work areas, parts cage, shop, warehouse, vehicles and job sites.
• Participate in budget process and meet or exceed revenue goals while controlling labor and material costs.
• Coach, train and review subordinate performance and promote methods and techniques that enhance productivity and work quality.
• Work with Sales, Field Managers and technicians to drive sales, create sales quotes, write and submit proposals, close sales, follow up on all sales proposals and stay in touch with existing LCS customers.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Two years of college or trade school or equivalent experience preferred.


• Possess a minimum of seven (7) years in a supervisory role
• Possess a minimum of ten (10) years verifiable HVACR field experience
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of HVACR systems and related operations.

License Required

• Registered with TDLR 
  • HVAC/R Contractor License Registered with TDLR (TACL A or B XXXXXX C)
• EPA Certification

Special Requirements:

A. Language Skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
B. Computer Skills
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and other company provided software with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work on desktops and tablets and phone system and assist employees in their use of assigned equipment.
C. Reasoning Ability
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to visualize and assess abstract ideas and develop structured plans for implementation of marketing, administrative and operational plans.
D. Equipment Experience
• Ability to use and train employees on the proper and safe use of all equipment required to perform the services we provide.
Work Environment:
• Office and field service environment.
• Exposure to smells and sounds associated with HVAC/R services.
• Exposure to dust and other debris.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
• Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance and peripheral vision with normal depth perception.

Work Hours

Generally an 8 hour workday which may begin at 7:00 or 8:00 am and ends approximately 4:00 or 5:00 pm. Overtime as required in order to complete all assigned tasks of this position.

This is a full-time exempt position that is not eligible for overtime pay. Total comp (base plus bonus) is performance based and will range from $85,000 - $120,000 based on P&L operations performance.
